Privacy

Short version: we collect what we need to run a directory and verify owners, we keep private things private, and we do not sell anything about you.

Business listings

Listing details come from public records (the Texas Comptroller's active sales-tax permit list and open map data) and from owners. The public page shows the business name, city, ZIP code, phone number, website, categories, and whatever the owner adds. Street addresses stay hidden unless the owner turns them on. Map pins are rounded to an approximate area.

Business owners

To claim a listing you sign in with an email address. We keep that address, the time you signed in, and a record of how you verified. One-time codes are stored only as hashes and expire in ten minutes. Evidence files you upload are stored in a private bucket that only our admin can open, and only to decide your claim. A taxpayer number you type in is hashed and compared, never stored.

When a real business is verified, we pass the business name and the owner's email to Hanov Consulting's customer system so we can follow up about the directory and related services. You can ask us to stop at any time.

Visitors

If you message a business through the site, we store your name, email, phone (if given) and message, and send them to that business. To stop abuse we keep a hashed form of your connection address for about a day. We do not run advertising trackers.

Cookies and storage

Signed-in owners get a session stored in the browser. Everyone else gets nothing beyond what the browser needs to load the page.

Who handles the data

Hosting and the database run on Lovable Cloud (built on Supabase). Email goes through Resend. Verification texts go through Twilio. Payments go through Stripe, which handles card details; we never see them. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. Each of these sees only what it needs for its job.

Email to business owners

We may email an owner of a listed business once to say the listing exists and can be claimed. Every such email carries our mailing address and an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing is immediate and permanent. We never text anyone who did not ask for a verification code.

Your choices

Email us at firus@hanovconsulting.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to remove a listing you own. We answer within a few business days.
