Terms of use
Local TX Directory is run by Hanov Consulting in Texas. These terms cover anyone who uses the site, and a few extra points cover business owners who claim a listing.
What the site is
A directory of small businesses in Central Texas. Listings come from public records and from owners. A listing marked Verified means the owner proved they control the business's phone number or website email, or sent us evidence that we checked. It is not a review, a rating, a license check, or a recommendation.
Claiming a listing
Claiming is free. You may only claim a business you own or are authorized to manage. You are responsible for what you add to your listing: hours, descriptions, photos and links. Keep it true, keep it yours, and keep it legal. We can edit or remove anything that is misleading, offensive, or not about the business.
A Texas taxpayer number is optional. We compare a hash of it against public records to add a note to your claim. It never verifies a listing on its own, and we do not store the number.
Featured placement
Verified owners can pay for Featured placement, billed monthly through Stripe. It moves the listing to the top of its category pages and adds a Featured badge. It does not make a listing Verified; nobody can pay for that. Cancel any time from your dashboard. Charges for a month already started are not refunded.
Messages sent through the site
When you message a verified business, we pass your name, contact details and message to that business. We do not sell your details and we do not add you to any list.
No reviews
The site does not publish reviews or ratings. See the review policy.
Accuracy
Public records go stale. Phone numbers change and businesses close. We work to keep listings current, but we cannot promise any listing is complete or correct. Check before you rely on it. If a listing about your business is wrong, claim it or email us at firus@hanovconsulting.com.
Liability
The site is provided as is. To the extent Texas law allows, Hanov Consulting is not liable for losses that come from using the site or from dealing with a business listed on it. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, if anything.
Removal and takedowns
Owners can hide their own listing from the dashboard. For copyright complaints, see the DMCA page.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when. Using the site after a change means you accept it.
Law
Texas law applies. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Texas.
